What Will I Learn?
:

Professional Studies is committed to the learning outcomes of career preparaton, critical thinking, communication, ethical reasoning, and leadership.

A learner in Computer Operations Technology will complete the following outcomes:

  • Possess depth and breadth of key computer application concepts and practices.
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary for competency in computer operations using a variety of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary for competency in networking, IT, and project management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to craft documents which showcase an understanding of the use of technological tools.
  • Exhibit a broad understanding and appreciation of ethics in management.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills.

 

Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?:

All learners complete a capstone research project applicable to their major before graduation which is externally evaluated for evidence of competency in meeting the program outcomes. The evaluator uses rubrics with categories of Distinguished, Proficient, Basic and Below Standard.
Scores reflect a compilation of submissions for Fall 2009.

Of the capstone projects in Computer Operations Technology evaluated for Fall 2009 , 74% scored proficient or higher.
