What Will I Learn?
:

Students in the Master of Arts in Psychology, Organizational
Leadership Specialization will be able to:

  1. Evaluate and apply psychological research in organizations;
  2. Evaluate the impact of social and cultural diversity in organizations;
  3. Assess human behavior, both normal and abnormal, and demonstrate the ability to facilitate appropriate growth and change;
  4. Analyze concepts and demonstrate skills that are fundamental to ethical practice in organizations;
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of the complexity of organizational systems and functions as effective change agents; and
  6. Recognize and integrate appropriate leadership skills.
Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?:

This is a very new program with a small student population. As of November 2009, over 87% of the students surpass the learning standards.  Professors assess students’ achievement of programmatic learning outcomes as well as assess and review the course itself after each course. They are asked review individual student performance against the Programmatic Learning Outcomes with specific assessment rubrics using a response scale of:
0=NA, 1=Standards Not Met, 2=Area of Concern, 3=Standards Met, 4=Area of Strength. The sample size for this program was N>50.
