The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program focuses on the study of human behavior and mental processes. This program explores psychology both as an area of scientific investigation and as a health or human services profession. Students majoring in psychology may also seek employment opportunities in business, law, government, health care, and other careers that involve understanding human behavior and providing competent leadership.

Students will learn to:
• Analyze human behavior and mental processes;
• Analyze theories of continuing education in psychology and related fields;
• Evaluate theories of personality development;
• Evaluate psychology research methods;
• Demonstrate communication behavior consistent with the study and practice of psychology; and
• Acquire and use skills and concepts that are fundamental to the ethical application of psychology.

Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?:

An aggregation of student work samples from the Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program indicated that approximately 91% of sampled student work met learning outcomes.  Consistent with Ashford University’s mission to provide high quality education, this data has been reviewed to make adjustments to the program to further enhance and promote student learning.
