Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?:

Click here to see outcome data for Capella University's Master’s in Information Technology program.

The effectiveness of Capella University's Master’s in Information Technology program is measured directly during specialization-specific capstone courses using criterion-referenced assessments of the intended specialization learning outcomes.  From Q4 2009 through Q3 2010 80% or more of the learners' outcome demonstrations were judged to be at the proficient level of performance or higher on 24 of the 27 specialization outcomes measured in 5 different specializations. Faculty have reviewed these data in detail to gain insights into their program's effectiveness, to ask new research questions, and to create action items to improve the program. The outcome data reported are an aggregation of the program outcome assessment data from the capstone course, which is intended to serve as an indicator of the program's effectiveness.
