| Program learning outcomes: What Will I Learn?: |
Completion of this program should enable students to: 1. Identify the intended message of biblical passages. 2. Demonstrate exegetical skill in the interpretation of biblical texts. 3. Relate an examination of Christianity to contemporary themes. |
| Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?: | Interpretive and exegetical skills are measured by means of major research projects in the form of exegetical papers required for each advanced Bible class. A detailed grading rubric measuring the various components of each exegetical paper is used to assess each student's work. A recent assessment indicated that, from a sample of students in the program, 75% scored 80% or better in relation to identifying the main message of a biblical passage. Also, from a sample of students in the program, 67% scored 85% or better for a final score on their exegetical paper. |
| Results of External Exams/Assessments: What third-party assessments will measure what I have learned?: | N/A |
