| Program learning outcomes: What Will I Learn?: |
1) Demonstrate comprehension of the principles of accounting, marketing, finance, management and economics. |
| Evidence of Student Learning - Internal: How will the program measure what I have learned?: | BS Business Program Outcomes Assessment Assessment Methodology The achievement of program outcomes is assessed through various measures. Specifically, four metrics will be used to measure the achievement of program outcomes: Direct Measure 1:The percentage of the BUS495 students who receives a rating of 2 (out of 3) or higher on the Capstone Rubric for the designate program outcome. Direct Measures 2a & 2b: The percentage of the students who receive a grade of B or higher on two selected course embedded assessments that measure the related program outcome. Indirect Measure 1: The mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcomes (data collected from the exit survey). Indirect Measure 2 (Reference): The mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcomes (data collected from the one-year survey). The results of the one year post-graduation survey are used as a reference to provide a longitudinal perspective on students’ attainment of program outcomes. It is not a valid measure of program outcome attainment.
LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT Highly Achieved: 1. 85% of BUS495 students will receive a rating of 2 (out of 3) or better on the Capstone Rubric for the designate program outcome. 2. 85% of students will receive a grade of B or better on two selected course embedded assessments that measure the related program outcome. 3. From the results of the exit survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcomes will be 5 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale. 4. From the results of the one-year post graduate survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcome will be 5 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale.
Meets Standard: 1. 70% of BUS495 students will receive a grade of 2 (out of 3) or better on the final learning statement for the designated program outcome. 2. 70% of students will receive a grade of B or better on two selected course embedded assessments that measure the related program outcome. 3. From the results of the exit survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcome will be 4 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale. 4. From the results of the one-year post graduate survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcome will be 4 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale.
Needs Improvement: 1. 60% of BUS495 students will receive a grade of 2 (out of 3) or better on the final learning statement for the designated program outcome. 2. 60% of students will receive a grade of B or better on two selected course embedded assessments that measure the related program outcome. 3. From the results of the exit survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcome will be 3 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale. 4. From the results of the one-year post graduate survey, the mean of the graduates’ perceptions of their achievement of the related program outcome will be 3 or higher on a 6-point Likert-scale.

The Center for Educational Measurement at the College maintains the examination instrument and periodically analyses the results.
