Brief Accounts of Institutional Philosophy
Academic Model
Faculty members who are professionals in their fields facilitate learning at Colorado Technical University (CTU). The CTU Professional Learning Model (PLM) promotes problem-based learning and achievement of relevant business skills through student-led research and resolution of real-world hands-on tasks. For students as CTU Online, an innovative and immersive web-based learning environment, the Virtual Campus (VC), is home to classrooms, interactive course materials, and learning resources. The Virtual Campus supports students' learning styles though MUSE, My Unique Student Experience. Students can download selected course materials to I-Pods and other mobile devices. In addition to the classrooms, the Virtual Campus features a Learning Center that features the online library, multimedia labs, writing centers, and one-on-one tutoring. The Virtual Campus also hosts a campus social center called the Virtual Commons. Here students can participate in clubs and other activities. In addition, the Virtual Commons hosts Career Services, student advising, student financial services, and an online store.
